Dr. John X. Cordoba

About
Dr. John Cordoba has been in orthodontic practice since 1991. Dr. Cordoba is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only 25% of orthodontists in the United States are board certified. Furthermore, he was asked by the board to be one of the only ten orthodontists in the country to present a case at the American Association of Orthodontists’ annual meeting.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Cordoba moved to the Orlando area after finishing his orthodontic training. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Florida Dental Association and is a delegate to the American Dental Association. He will be a future president of the Florida Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Cordoba and his wife Sophia, who is a general dentist, enjoy fishing, boating, traveling, and most of all, spending time with their sons, Johnny and Alexander.
Orlando Magazine recently selected Dr. Cordoba as one of the “Best Orthodontists in the Orlando Area.”
Education
Dr. Cordoba graduated cum laude from Wittenberg University in Ohio and then attended Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, graduating cum laude with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school, he received the Loyola Research Grant for scientific research and was elected for membership into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Society.
Dr. Cordoba has special insight into general dentistry. Before continuing on to specialty training, he completed a general practice residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and also practiced as a dentist.
After two years of further study, he completed his orthodontic residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and received his Master of Science degree for research involving cleft lip and palate.
